Quit Smoking With Essential Oils

DoTerra Essential Oil Help For:

Quitting Smoking

Nicotine is an addictive drug. It causes changes in the brain that make people want to use it more and more. In addition, addictive drugs cause unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. The good feelings that result when an addictive drug is present — and the bad feelings when it’s absent — make breaking any addiction very difficult. Nicotine addiction has historically been one of the hardest addictions to break.
When a person smokes a cigarette, the body responds immediately to the chemical nicotine in the smoke. Nicotine causes a short-term increase in blood pressure, heart rate and the flow of blood from the heart. It also causes the arteries to narrow. The smoke includes carbon monoxide, which reduces the amount of oxygen the blood can carry. This, combined with the nicotine effects, creates an imbalance between the demand for oxygen by the cells and the amount of oxygen the blood can supply.

What are the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal?

irritability
impatience
hostility
anxiety
depressed mood
difficulty concentrating
restlessness
decreased heart rate
increased appetite or weight gain
When you’re mentally ready to quit, there are several products & options to assist you.  Many people have found success quitting using the following DoTerra Essential Oil methods. It tends to not only the addiction itself, but also the withdraw symptoms. If you or someone you love is trying to quit smoking… I recommend this to help. The withdraw symptoms are much less and makes the process easier on everyone involved.

PCOS Polycystic ovary syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a result of hormone imbalance. The reasons are not understood but for some reason the female sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone, become imbalanced and there is usually increased androgens or male hormones.  In PCOS, during ovulation, the egg(s) normally released do not mature and release, but instead form the small cysts that are a common symptom.
Other symptoms may include heavy bleeding during the menstrual cycle, irregular or lack of periods, difficulty in getting pregnant, depression, unexplained increase in weight, changes in hair growth, and acne or skin disorders.  Symptoms will vary greatly from individual to individual. This may be detected at any age during child bearing years and seems to run in families. If not addressed it leads to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes and higher cholesterol levels.

Oils, blends & products recommended:

Oils & Blends:  Basil, Clary Sage, Cypress, Deep Blue, Frankincense, Geranium, Helichrysum, Lavender, Myrrh, Solace
Essential oils based products: Phytoestrogen Lifetime Complex
Also consider: Deep Blue
Note: to understand the E and C superscript go to Home and scroll to New Helps.
Suggested protocols:
Long Term
The root cause of PCOS is hormonal balance and the observations and suggestions by Dr. Hill on this are very important.  Go to Hormonal Balance.
Also Dr. David K. Hill in this presentation on Hormonal Balance gives this important observation, "Frankincense should also be considered for disorders of the uterus such as fibroid cysts, etc.  Use it to reduce existing abnormalities or consider it to prevent their formation.  Frankincense will also balance the endocrine system.  Use it by placing 2 or 3 drops under the tongue every night and every morning."
The following is a protocol some have found helpful:
Use natural tampons without chlorine. Blend:
  8 drops Clary Sage
  8 drops Frankincense
  8 drops Lavender
  8 drops Cypress
2 TBSP melted virgin coconut oil
Soak the mixture into the tampon.  Insert over night.
Do nightly for one week, then switch for a week to:
  8 drops Frankincense
  8 drops Geranium
  5 drops Myrrh
  2 TBSP grape seed oil
For those unable to use tampons the blend may be administered with a syringe
or applied topically to the feet and female reproductive reflexology points.
Symptom Relief
Pain and Cramps -
The following, applied topically or o the lower abdomen have proven successful: Deep Blue, Basil or Basil with Clary Sage, Solace
  Helichrysum internally in a capsule

MRSA and essential oils

mrsa MRSA and essential oils

You've probably heard of MRSA, or Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, a.k.a the super bug. Why is it called a super bug? It's because this nasty infection has become resistant to antibiotics. It is very difficult to treat and can be responsible for symptoms ranging from mild to severe.
There are two types of MRSA, health care associated (HA- MRSA) and community associated (CA-MRSA). The following have been shown to increase your risk of developing either type:
  • Skin injuries
  • Taking antibiotics or other medications
  • Recent hospital visit (in patient or just visiting someone)
  • Participation in contact sports
  • Using shared sports equipment
  • Sharing personal items like razors or towels
  • Poor skin hygiene
  • Obesity
  • Intravenous drug use
  • Newborns
  • Visiting public areas like shopping centers, gyms, using public transportation or phones
  • Low immunity
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Using hot tubs
Essential oils have been studied for their effectiveness on MRSA to give your body the tools it needs to heal itself, try the following doTERRA 100% Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils:
On Guard, Oregano, Melaleuca, Geranium, Frankincense, Peppermint, Lemon and Thyme
Here are some MRSA recipes to try.
*Recipe #1
            1 Part Melalueca
            1 Part Lemon
            2/3 Part Oregano
In an empty vegetable capsule, take 2 times a day OR you can rub them on the bottom of your feet. Can also applied locally as long as there isn't an open sore. For sensitive skin, use carrier oil.
*Recipe #2
  • On Guard (12 drops)
  • Oregano (6 drops)
  • Frankincense ( 2 drops)
In an empty vegetable capsule, take 2 times a day OR you can rub them on the bottom of the feet. Can also be applied locally as long as there isn't an open sore. For sensitive skin, use carrier oil.
 *Recipe #3
  • Melaleuca ( 10 drops)
  • Lemongrass ( 10 drops)
  • Thyme ( 5 drops)
  • Cinnamon  (5 drops)
In an empty vegetable capsule, take 2 times a day OR you can rub them on the bottom of the feet. Can also be applied locally as long as there isn't an open sore. For sensitive skin, use carrier oil.
 *Recipe #4
  • Oregano ( 10 drops)
  • Cinnamon ( 10 drops)
  • Lemon ( 10 Drops)
  • Frankincense ( 2 drops)
In an empty vegetable capsule, take 2 times a day OR you can rub them on the bottom of the feet. Can also be applied locally as long as there isn't an open sore. For sensitive skin, use carrier oil.
*Recipe #5
Place 2-5 drops of each individually, Oregano, On Guard and Frankincense followed by lemon and peppermint on bottoms of feet every 2 hrs. Applying oils to the location is also recommended. Remember to wash and sanitize hands afterwards. For sensitive skin, use carrier oil.
Warning: peppermint may make a staph infection more painful!
All of the above mentioned oils can be found HERE.
It's important to rotate the recipes every so often (7-10 days) and to continue use even after you may see improvement. You should choose to rotate between 4 or 5 recipes and be diligent about applying the oils.
*Some of these recipes are large and may not fit in a capsule. In that case, I would use them locally (except not in the eye area) or apply to bottoms of feet. I recommend layering, or applying them individually using a carrier oil. Carrier oil can be franctionated coconut oil or any pure vegetable oil like organic olive oil. I would definitely use organic oils.
I would also diffuse a few drops of On Guard, lemon or frankincense into the air using a diffuser like the Aroma Ace or Lotus. You can also combine a few drops in a small spray bottle with distilled water, and spray into the air if you don't have a diffuser.

10 Basic Oils Every Home Needs

You might be asking yourself  “Why do I even need essential oils when I can just go to the Doctor?”  The reason is: Essential Oils are a safer, more natural approach to medicine with no side affects.  Eighty percent of the time your illness is a viral infection and there is no “over the counter” medicine to combat a virus, however,  Essential Oils have several studies showing there ability to kill a viral infection.

Every home needs ten basic essential oils. These oils are found in the Family Physician Kit.

I use the Family Physician Kit for most of my medicinal needs.  It has completely replaced my medicine cabinet.  Here are a few ways that I have had success in using the oils in this kit:

1. Lavender - It is the most versatile and popular oil. It is great for burns and takes away pain and blistering fast! It works very well as a sleep aid and it has a very calming effect. It also works as a natural antihistamine and provides relief from insect bites. Rub on your feet each night for relaxation, or headache relief.

2.  Lemon - Use a drop of lemon every day in your water to keep your body acid free (alkaline). Lemon helps clean your lymphatic system.  It is excellent for sore throats– just place a drop on your tongue or gargle with lemon water. You can also use it as a cleaning agent. Lemon oil will clean ninety-nine percent of bacteria.

3.  Peppermint - It has been double-blind studied against Tylenol and was proven to be just as effective in treating headaches.  Peppermint Oil was reported by the Mayo Clinic as being one of the most promising treatments for I.B.S.  It is fantastic for digestive issues and when inhaled it will stimulate the brain to increase alertness. Peppermint is also great for nausea.

4.  Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) – This is fantastic for acne since most acne medications are antibacterial creams, melaleuca is antibacterial.  It is also great for most skin conditions: general rashes, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, and MRSA.  You can rub it on your head to control dandruff and on your chest for coughs.

5.  Deep Blue  -  It reduces inflammations and relieves sore muscles and back aches.  Use this oil on all sport related injuries and will also relieve headaches.

6. Oregano - It is your heaviest fighter oil with several studies proving its ability to kill MRSA (staph infection). It is one of the most important oils to use when fighting any infection. It is a very hot oil and must be diluted with any carrier oil (Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil etc) to apply topically.

7. On Guard - This oil helps to strengthen your immune system.  This is great for disinfecting the home via a diffuser or even mix with water to use as a cleaner to wipe down counters.  Rub this on your feet every night for cold prevention and can rub on teeth to help reduce plaque & gum infections.

8.  Breathe - Use this oil from respiratory infections, coughs, or asthma symptoms.  Rub it on your chest to help combat congestion.  Rub on chest and under your nostrils to help with snoring.  Unlike other Vapor Rubs, Breathe will actually assist your body in fighting off the infection.

9.  DigestZen - this blend will work for any digestive disorder: Acid Reflux, heartburn, H.Pylori Bacteria, diarrhea, Constipation, IBS, etc. Rub four drops of DigestZen on your stomach for all the above.  Seventy percent of your immune function is through your GI so if you have a compromised GI you have a compromised immune system. Using DigestZen will help strengthen immune system.

10. Frankincense - this oil contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier.  It may help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands.  Many people believe it helps with anxiety and depression. Frankincense also helps reduce seizure activity. Several studies have been done on Frankincense and its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself!   doTERRA Essential Oils work perfectly with the body to support normal functions of the body and dōTERRA products are safe to use on all ages.

I have used all of doTerra essential oils on my kids. I used them while I was pregnant and I used them on my daughter at just an hour old to help with her circulation. My kids are ages 4 months 3 years 7 years and 8 years. My kids are very rarely sick now. Before the oils they were always sick. I use to hate taking my son to the store seemed like every time we went he would be sick within a few days with something. Now because we use the oils daily it helps protect us from all the nasty germs out there. doTerra essential oils can be used on all ages. doTerra essential oils is one of the best things that has come into my families lives.

Read more on the company and the oils you will be really surprised at what you read:) http://www.doterra.myvoffice.com/latarranbrown
